I chose the fabrics I enjoyed to bring out the wonderful iridescent
hues of the nautilus shell. Then I played with the three laser-cut shell
pieces in various arrangements.
At first I had seen them as wheels,
possibly on a chariot or cart. As I arranged them in various poses with
the figure, I found myself really enjoying the wonderful
center swirl coming over
the back of his head. I had designed this new male body, using 1/5 scale
proportions and it seemed to want to kneel and pledge. I had recently re-read the Bhagavad-Gita, the story of the warrior Arjuna and I felt this
warrior, a Pacific Warrior, would look upon life with compassion as well.
